Visitor Visa - Invitation Letter Issue - Please help

My brother was studying in USA and his convocation is scheduled in May 2014. He has sent an invitation for my mother, me and my husband, on the basis of which we can apply for US B2 Visa.
The problem is that I have recently gotten married and my marriage is still to be registered (India) and due to some issues, its getting inadvertently delayed.
Is it possible that my mother applies for the visa now and I and my husband use the invitation letter again once our Marriage Certificate is ready (but before the convocation date)?
Or is it that if one letter is for 3 people then all 3 need to apply and appear for interview on the same date?
Please help friends, its very urgent!!!
