is ds-157 needed for mom in vfs

is ds -157 form needed for mom in new vfs appointments, i filled ds 156 online, when completed, also ds 157 was there is it also need for mom house wife aged 53 ,hope needed for male applicants only clear me please........

Hi Deepa,

You do not have to fill DS-157 for your mom. It is only for male applicants.

By the way, did you get Tamil Appointment through VFS?

i got tamil interview for my mom swetha and finally at end got confirm list rules and documents in that said bring ds-156 and 157 with other docs so had doubt..........

I heard that you need to fill DS156 when you take the appointment, but I am seeing you asking questions anout DS156 now. Can you take appt without filling that form online?

i already filled the application and only then i got appointment with wat knowlegge i had , now just checking if i had done correct and also modifying wat i feeelis wrong by modify application link thats it

Than you very much for the information.I have the following questions.

1. One of my friend mentioned me that DS 157 is not required for females . And he also said that he didn't fill DS157 for his mom when he applied last year. He also said that he didnt filll the same for his father also since he is above 40 yrs.

My mom is around 60yrs old. So, is it not necessary to fill DS 157? In that case, will I be able to take an appointment date, because it shows me both DS156 and DS157 on the VFS webiste..

In this thread I see deepa taking the appointment without filling DS 157, can you please navigate me how do you do this after filline DS 156? On my latest screen, it shows DS156 and 156 with a checkmark beside DS 156 .Bottom it shows "Delete applicant" and "Save Application and Exit". SO do I need to fill DS 157 too?????

2. On DS 156 #39, what should be my answer? " Was this application prepared by Another person on your behalf? " I am supposing this is "Yes" because I am filling it for my mom. , please let me know if I am correct or wrong..

Please advise me asap..
