    Hello,

have got an appointment for my wife on 3rd April, I have these questions,

    1. She is part of my business, and ears 75,000 INR a Month, so is that ok to write as 'self' for paying the trip?
    2. She was refused a visa under 214(B) in June 2012, that time we just got married and her income was nothing, and housewife. She was a Student in the USA, and had just returned so no idea why they refused her
    3. We both have 10 year UK Visas issued in March 2014, and we have had multiple Schenzen (EU) Trips.
    4. Her brother is holding a US GC, and so is my Sis, and they are both married to their spouse, so can we just mention we are going to meet them? and Her brother is going to have a baby which is why we plan to travel, so can that be a valid reason? and strong enough?

    Some more info,

    1. My income a month is 2,10,000
    2. Business income is 1.24 Cr a year
    3. I have a US Visa which expires in 2022

And a last question in DS 160 i filled it as B1/B2, is that ok? Cause purpose is just B2, and I am no more able to edit it.

And at OFC, does she need to submit passport and financial documents?

    Thanks,

You are asking these qs when you have already submitted the DS160 and taken an appointment.

Mentioning visiting brother as purpose is fine. but it is not a strong purpose . But baby ; they can think she is going to help them with baby care
which can be a reason for denial.

Ideal would have been her applying when you were going on a buinsess trip. Present purpose as " accompanying husband on his business trip"
showing him as funding the trip.

Past denial of her visa should not matter.

Writing B1/B2 won't matter . And at OFC, they just take your pic and fingerprints. You do not need to submit anything.
But she must carry her passport and appointment letter , fees paid letter etc.

        Hello,

Thanks for asking, the DS160 is still editable so if there is any thing u think i shud edit do let me know, also if baby isn't a good enough reason, can it be about meeting my sis and niece? we haven't seen them either , also any idea if the 10 year UK visa makes any difference?

        regards,

yes, It is editable. You could change the funding person from "self" to " husband" as your income is much better and you already have a visa.
Also, visiting relatives as purpose is fine , though it is a casual purpose . Like I said, if you could wait for her to apply till you were going on a business trip,
the chances would be even better.

Yes, a history of past travel is good favorable factor but it is secondary to purpose and financial ties at home.

I am happy I was able to help someone . But there is so much officer discretion involved with a B1/B2 decision that
              you can never be sure.

Her income before taxes is good but still brodering on the safe region , so I still think it would be better to mention you as the funder.

If they ask her your income , she should mention your personal income and not business income.
She must take proof of your personal income and a copy of your visa. And also proof of her own income.

                peace999,

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

Wife went for interview today, for anyone who might need future help have included some basic DS160 brief which peace helped me fill.

                DS160

                1. I made her Salary as the figure before tax, it seems thats the real figure unless 'Net' is mentioned
                2. I forgot to change paying for trip from 'self' to me, but guess that was ok.
                3. Reason, we stuck to the truth, going to see brother as he is gonna be a dad, trip duration was 3 weeks.

Now Interview, (including only the relevant questions no, morning etc.)

Question 1. Who are you Visiting?
Answer : My Brother, cause he will be a dad and I DO NOT wanna miss the day the baby is born, we will also be seeing my sister in law.

Question 2. When were you last refused? And does your husband have a visa?
Answer : 2012, and Yes, valid till 2022

Question 3. How long will you stay?
                Answer : 3 Weeks

Question 4. How much do you earn?
                Answer : 86000 a month

                Ok, your visa is approved

Thats all, thanks so much peace, while I goofed up with not making self as payment, But thanks

                    B1/B2 Visa Surname

                    Hello Greeting,

I have seen your posts on immihelp and I'm in need of some help to clarify some issues I am having with my passport and US visa. I have Indian passport with no surname ( YYYY X YYYYY, NO SURNAME) however my US B1/B2 visa was issued as Last Name=YYYYY and First name= YYYY X. Could you please advise if I would run into any issues? It would be greatly appreciated if you could advise how can I go about booking a flight to US without surname on passport but have surname on visa?

                    Thanks much.
