  • Chances of getting visa granted

    hi,

It's my first cousin's wedding in US, we all want to attend the wedding.
My mom already has a valid visa, me my dad, my wife and younger brother (He is student) wants to apply for the visa.
we have got wedding invitation, with the wedding card and we have a sound business here in India along with few properties.
My dad's visa was rejected twice 20yrs ago and mine around 12 yrs back, after that i have been to many countries.
What are the chances that the b2 visa can be granted to us.
    Please reply.

a lot of years have passed so your new application will be assessed under the current circumstances.
Most important issue will be work and income ties both for you and your dad. A stable business and a strong income
(at least 1 lac per month each for you and your dad )
should get you an approval, since you also have a history of travel abroad.
Show self funding for the trip that is very important. And also the stay mentioned should be appropriate for the wedding.
For example if someone in the family mentions 5-6 months that would be wrong.

About your brother; young and single, chances decrease but it all depends on the officer and his luck.
He should show dad's funding in the form.

      Chances of getting visa granted

      Thanks for your reply.

Want to know, if they don't see any documents then how would they get to know about my income, investments or other details.
And just by asking few questions how can they judge about persons real intentions and what they have.

      Pls confirm

they mainly decide on the basis of the DS160 that you complete;most of the deciding info is on the form.
+ a few verbal questions.( work, income, who is funding, your travel history, marital status, your purpose, your desired stay period is all that matters).

It is common in India for people to fudge documents so they stopped relying on them.
They can verify the DS160 info by calling your home/office before the interview at random.

Some documents may still rarely be seen at random like tax returns, salary slips, wedding card in your case.

And last of all , how you answer the questions. If someone is lying they can know, they do it all day.

While it is fustrating that they do not base decisions on documents one has to understand its their sovereign right who they wish to allow or not allow, if denied it isn't the end of the world,

But one has to agree it is the cheapest and the best visa once you get it, costs less than UK 6 month visa and almost 2 schenzen visas!

My wife was denied once It made no difference to us, thanks to peace999 we got it 2 days back, just go , be honest and mostly you will get it

in the visa that we have received her Surname is mentioned as Kaur and Given Name is mentioned as Ritu.

Please confirm is the the way it should be or it need's correction.

Your assistance and immediate help in this regard would be really appreciated.
