  • Clarifications on B2 Visitor Visa

I'm planning to invite my Father and Father-in-law to USA.

Appreciate anyone can help me to clarify for the below mentioned questions.

-Is it advisable to initiate a B2 Visitor Visa for both of my Father and Father-in law at once. Is it okay to send both of them together for an Interview to US consulate.
-I have an Average Balance in Bank around $2500. Is this amount is very less to sponsor visitor visa? If it is very less what are ther other alternativies?
-Also my current passport is getting expired by June'2014. I have applied for Renewal of Passport. But will this impact of issuing visitor visa to my father/father-in-law?
Do I need to get first renewed my passport before sponsoring visitor visa?

    Thanks.

    passport is not an issue.
but what about your mother and MIL ?
They will ask why they are not coming?
    alternatives to less balance are;
if they are earning well or have very good savings, they can show self funding.
or you can wait till you have a better balance.
Your income will also be considered ( send salary slip, tax return).

      Thanks peace999.

My MIL working in State Government, she applied for NOC. It is getting delayed.

My Mother health condition is not good.

My FIL and father is interested to visit USA. Since we might also return to India by this year end.
Thought this would be the right season for them to tour USA.

Now, I have decided to process visitor visa separately for my Father and a Father-in law.

My FIL will be self-sponsoring his VISA. For self sponsoring, how much amount to the minimum he should have
In his bank account? (he is retired central govt employee)

      Thanks.

I suggest FIL should wait for his wife to get her NOC and show travel together. traveling alone can be a reason for denial. no cut off for self funding. roughly savings 15-20 L. If in doubt over their financial health, build up your balance over a month or so and send sponsorship. With bank balance, they will look at your income as well, so it should be fine. and sponsorship works ok for parents and in-laws.
