  • What are my chances of b2 visa approval??

    Hi,
Many Thanks to immihelp for the great service rendered regarding US visas.

I am planning to apply for B2 visitor visa.
I am employed and drawing 70,000 rupees per month. Working since 2008 (first job only)
Planning to apply visitor visa with my wife and 2 kids 9 & 5 years age.
My brother is an US citizen.
my niece is performing her dance graduation ceremony in June mid week.
My parents have visited my brother 8 months back.

    My questions are:
    1) should we mention purpose only dance graduation or dance and tourism or simply tourism.
    2) whom to mention as sponsor---- my brother or self.
    3) 10 years back my student visa was rejected for lack of academics and want of funds.
    4) how much duration of stay should I mention 1 month or less than that.

    Please advise. Thanks in advance.

student visa denial was long back so it will not affect this application. Simply mention visiting brother for a month. But you must have sanctioned leave for that period from your employer.

self funding is always better but your income may be on the borderline for that. If your wife is also working , it will work out well.
If not, go ahead and take a chance with 70000.

If I say I am buying flight tickets and my brother will bear expenses of our stay in US Then is it ok.
If so then whom should I mention as sponsor in DS160 Myself or my brother or partly both or Both.

        Kindly advise.

No. it does not work partly. Either you or your brother.

          You have to decide.
Actually there is no official cut off, it is only based on general trend , that 70k seems on borderline.
It can work also if you are lucky . Or you can wait till you have a better salary like 85k or above.

              Hi peace999,
I have one more query. Please help.
While filling my wife and kids DS 160 forms, I have mentioned my US Citizen brother as OTHER RELATIVE.for the question DO YOU HAVE ANY relatives. is it ok. Or did I do any mistake.
              I am confused and worried.
I have not yet paid the fee.
Your early answer will help me further,
              Regards

                No

brother is an immediate relative not 'other' relative. So you should change that.

                  Hi Peace999,
Thank you very much for the quick response.
In MY DS 160 I have mentioned him as IMMEDIATE RELATIVE ONLY.
But will it hold good for my wife and kids too with regard to him.
In their DS 160 I have mentioned him as OTHER RELATIVE but not IMMEDIATE RELATIVE. That was my query.
                  Please clarify.

                      Hi peace999,
First of all thank you very much for clarifying and clearing my tension.
You are doing such great help to anyone who is asking for clarifications and you need not feel sorry any time.
I did not mention my query initially correct. So it's my mistake only.

                        Hi peace999,

I have gone to interview on your guidelines.
It has worked out and we got our visas.
Only thing is for how many years are they going to to issue our visas.
Keeping my fingers crossed till I get our passports.

                        Thank you very much.
