I am applying for visitor visa for my Mother-in-law and father-in-law. Neither me, nor my wife has birth certificates, is there any alternative for that.

birth certificates are NOT mandatory for a visitor visa.
Sometimes they want to be sure they are actually your in-laws, not someone else. Your wife can send a copy of her school certificate with
her dad's name on it. In routine, it will not be required, but just in case if an officer asks for some proof.
