My visa chances?

I am a 30 year old indian male, currently Doing phd in Netherlands. I got my bachelor and master degree in US on f1. Left US 6 years ago. Then I worked in Canada for one year. My dad lives and works in the US on h1. Mom lives in india. I now want to visit dad for a week. I will be applying for b2 in india. What are my chances? Since I am a student, I don't have income. But do have around 1 crore in savings.

What are my chances, and what documents should I carry? Financial docs? What about docs from my 7 years studying in US? Thanks.

the best policy is to apply in your current place of residence. since you are still enrolled as a PhD student in Netherlands, you should apply there.
Because they look at your ties and your enrollment in the course is a good tie. Although , chances are not great because of your history of work and study in
US and canada, so they may think you may not return , even if you have a PHD pending. But no harm in applying once . Applying in India, they are not likely to approve.
Show enrolment in the course and proof of leave. also show your savings in a dutch account. They will ask you how you are sustaining yourself;
you should be able to show your own savings, should not show dad's or someone else's funding support.
Also take proof of presence of dad in US, his visa copy and employment proof.

Thanks for the tips. Yes, I would have liked to apply in Netherlands,but unfortunately I am not eligible there. They ask for the residence card issued by the local city in the Netherlands....to get that I must either be renting or owning a residence in that city. Since I live in the university's phd dormitories, I am not eligible to get the city's residence card. So I must take my chances in india. I will carry the documents as you suggested. Unfortunately al my savings were transferred to india into the family account. So it's one combined account I'll have to show. I would have thought that since I previously traveled to US as a student and did not violate my status, that would work in my favor. But you're saying the opposite, and your reason makes sense. Hoping for the best.
