Not likely. Embassy staff aren't available to individually check social media resources for information about the thousands of visitor visa applications submitted every year.

Seems like greater scrutiny is now being given to social media sites, especially for Fiancee Visas: google '******** social media visa interview'

I have to amend my message in this thread of November 2014, in which I suggested that checks of social media was not likely to be happening soon.

Based on the FBI review of all the K1 docs from the two shooters in San Bernardino, and the rhetoric by a few politicians, we can probably expect at least cursory checks of social media for some (if not all) K1 applicants.
