  • Visitor Visa for a Niece - 12 Years old

    Dear members,

I would like my niece to visit me here in US, she can't travel with her parents as they don't have visa and occupied with their work/business and can't travel to United States. Is this a common practice? would US embassy consider giving visa to a minor without her parents?

She is planning on spending summer vacations here in US with her cousins.

    Please advise.

she can initially apply under drop box( no interview). Please go to USTRAVELDOCS.COM and look for special cases "VISA FOR UNDER 14 AND OVER 80."
though some kids get called later with their parents for the interview ( even if the parents are not going).

Children get visas all the time without their parents. as long as the parents give their consent( embassy requires that) and they meet all other
requirements like funding and school ties.
