DS160 submitted but visit is postponed

Hi, I am on F1 visa in US. My parents submitted the DS160 form for visitor visa to visit me for commencement. However , due to some family problem they are not able to make it this time. So I am postponing my commencement to next semester. My parents have not paid the Visa application fees yet. So when they schedule the visa interview next time (after about 6 months ) do they use the same application or fill out a fresh visa application form DS160? I am asking this question specifically because the visa application asked for tentative travel dates. If these dates remain on the same application if they use it after 6 months , the Visa officer may find that misleading. Please suggest the right thing to do here.
