Question Regarding joint FDs

I searched for this on the forums but didn't find the anaswer..

My father/mother have joint bank Fixed Deposits with me. Can they show them as their property??

Is it for a visitor visa?
If it is, you know their income and savings bank statements will hold more ground than FDs.
but if it is a substantial amount and you are not the first named person,
they could show it as one of their savings.
