Travel to the USA for general tourism purpose.

Hello,

I am a software engineer based in Chennai and I plan to visit the USA for general sightseeing purposes during my 25th birthday (june) and be there for around 3 weeks to a month. My friend who works there is sponsoring my trip as per the DS-160 and I have all necessary documents to support this. I also plan to visit my girlfriend who studies there and will be graduating around June/July and we plan to come back to India and get married. Apart from this, my reason to come back would be that my family resides in India and I have a job that pays me 70k per month. Will this be enough to convince the official during in interview? If not, what else am I lacking?

Please provide your suggestions.

Not good. No documents will be looked at.Just your purpose and sponsorship from a friend will get you a denial.
family and 70k job won't matter.

Going alone all the way to US just to visit a friend is never a good purpose.It is extremely unnatural and tells the officer you may have some other purpose, more so as you are young and single.. Also mentioning a girlfriend will mean you are not likely to return as you can get married there .

If you are genuine tourist, you should be going with some family members like parents
on your own expense ( no sponsorship), and have a history of travel abroad for tourism to other countries.
