  • Visitor Visa for unmarried sister

    Hi,

I am planning to sponsor visitor visa for my unmarried sister. She is almost 40 years old and does not want to get married. My mother is a widow and my sister and mother are living together. My sister is currently taking care of my other married sister's 4 year old son (after school, help with his homework, etc.)

I had applied for my unmarried sister's visa 7 years ago, but it got rejected, and I was not surprised.

However, I want to give it another shot after so many years. I only want her to visit us for 1-2 months during summer, and then she wants to go back to india.

How can I prove her family ties with India?

My mother already got her visa few years ago.

    Thanks in advance,

work, income and family are the major ties they look at .

Even if single, but had a decent job with strong income,
she could get it but both the things are absent.

she should get inolved in some committed work(job, business) that would, in the officer's assessment, bring her back.
        only then she should apply.

Thanks for your reply. Wouldn't taking care of nephew while his mother is working be sufficient? Also if I am applying for my sister alone, won't my mom being in India work as an advantage for her? Showing that she will come back for her mother?
          Thanks again.

No.In fact, they would think more in terms of she being helped by you to settle there as she
has no job /own family here which are more important personal issues than nephew and elderly mother.

they would just look at her single and unemployed status on the form plus sponsorship from you and they will decide the outcome.
they won't need to ask any questions and look at any documents.

In my opinion she will be wasting $160 in the current situation.

Even if no work, she should get involved in a committed way with some social/charitable/religious organizations before applying.
