do you have a birth certificate from municipality? does that have your father's name on it?

And does your father have a passport? What is his name in the passport?

      first of all ,
REALLY SORRY for some of the mistakes by me in the above post,i would like to correct it that i dont have any pan or passport.i have just given my class 12 exams(where i gave my fathers name as sunil walia and i would probably get the same name in school leaving certificate) and for further colleges in india i have given fathers name as sunil kumar walia.
sunil kumar walia(fathers name in class 10 marksheet)

my father has his name as sunil kumar (in his voter id ) and as sunil kumar bountra(in his pan card)

i dont have a birth certificate from the municipality and i was born in 1996.

my father doesnt have a passport.

When you get your passport made after your 18th birthday, you won't need any of the school documents or father's documents.

You will only need your birth certificate from municipality.

Since you were born in 96, it can easily be obtained from local municipality where you were born. Get it now.
Look at the certificate and if there is father's name on it , use it for all future passport and visa applications.
If there is no father's name on birth certificate, ask your father to get it added.
If that is not possible use the one on your 12th certificate on all passport and visa applications.

If your father is applying for a passport also, it is better you use the name he is using for his passport as in his birth certificate.

          so ,
there wouldnt be any difficulty if the details in my birth certificate and passport match.
but for getting the passport would there be any difficulty in due to different father name (in documents like proof of address, birth, getting non ecr passport, etc)

also, as you said that if there is no fathers name in birth certificate ,get it added, then is there any specific fathers name that you would recommend me to give.

for address proof you can get a pass book for a bank account in your own name in a nationalized bank ( use it for one year) after you are 18.
. They won't need any father's name in the pass book as long as you open the account after your 18th bday.

I am sorry, All BCs have parents' names ;only child's name is missing many times because at the time of registration, parents have not named the child.

For non-ECR they will need your 12th certificate.

So the bottom line is get your dad's name corrected in your BC to exactly matching your 12th certificate.
they can also ask for 10th certificate for non-ECR , Why have you not given the same dad's name for 12th as it is for 10th? It is your mistake.
Don't they automatically keep the same dad's name from their records for 10th as well as 12th?

cbse just takes the name given by us.
so,what i could get is that there is no problem for me as long as i dont require encr.
              now ,
              i read on the official site of passport that you are given encr if;
matriculation pass documents required: matriculation certificate(nothing mentioned about class 12)
              or the person is an
              income tax payer
              documents:
              i) Proof of assessment of income tax and actual payment of income tax for last one year
              OR
ii) Income Tax return statement (with income tax being paid by the applicant) for last one year that is stamped by income tax authorities and a copy of the PAN card
Note: i) Proof of payment of advance tax is not sufficient. You need to submit additional documents as specified above
ii) Applicants submitting NILL income tax return statement are not eligible.

and also professional degree holders ,document needed is certificate of the professional degree held(nothing mentioned about class 12 or 10)

              would it work.
if not then also what are the documents for ecr clearance
and i couldnt understand the difference between ecr clearance and ecr suspension(i read the whole article on this website)
i am just worrying as i dont know if there would be a problem if i go for private jobs (do you have any idea!!!!!!!!)
and also one more thing , when you said"When you get your passport made after your 18th birthday, you won't need any of the school documents or father's document"
were you considering all types of visa or just visitor visa.
thank you for the quick replies.

My mistake, first I did not think about ECNR. You won't need your dad's certificates for your passport but you will need your 10th class , also maybe 12th class your highest education credential for ECNR. that is why I thought on both of these the names should match.

You have to give any one subset for ECNR; if you are providing 10th class others don't apply to you.
If you go to the passport office, they will be able to tell you or you call some passport agent, he will tell you if you need both 10th and 12th for ECNR or only 10th. If you only need 10th , you will have to have both names matched in BC and 10th class cert.

                Like you read on the website;
                the following countries;
Pakistan, All countries in Europe(except Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS),
North America, Japan, New Zealand, Australia, South Korea, South Africa, & Singapore.

you can go irrespective of whether you have an ECR stamp on your passport or not. So, if you do not apply for ECNR ( meaning the passport won't contain any stamp).
you can still go to above countries.
If you are going to other countries, you either apply for ECR stamp deletion meaning by producing the documents as before 10th class, it returns etc. or you can apply for temporary suspension of EC Required stamp for that visit.

when you said"When you get your passport made after your 18th birthday, you won't need any of the school documents or father's document"
were you considering all types of visa or just visitor visa??
i mean if i go for employment in north america ,then would the visa authority need my educational documents as well.
also in this whole conversation i was talking about all types of visa ,not just visitor visa(though i didnt mention it anywhere)so in your replies did you consider all types of visa . or there are some other things required if i opt for visa other than tourist visa.

so far I was only considering passport requirements since you said you do not have a passport yet.

for student visa purposes they will mainly look at your name in all documents. visitor visa you won't need your school documents.
For immigrant visa in future , the most important document is your Birth certificate from municipality. Get it now and get any mistakes corrected
                    in it.

                      so here it is
if i get a passport, and i have done btech engineering, and i join a company which wants me to go to USA to work for some time, then what visa would i need.
and what documents would the visa authority check.

the most common work visa is H1b. The employer in US files a petition for you with USCIS ( US immigration)> The petition gets approved and approval
comes to you>> you apply for H1b visa at the embassy with all your credentials>>. they will check your BTECH degree, approved petition and verify the US employer
                        that is it.
