  • Visitor Visa to USA

    Hi,

I want to sponsor visitor visa to USA for my Mother (who is widow), my brother (Married, 28 years) and sister -in law. For purpose of tourism and visiting me for 1 month.
I am on H1B visa and married.

Could you please advice me on below points- Thanks a lot!!

    1) Should they apply together or my mother should apply for her visa first.

(I have heard that it is difficult to get visa for young people. So should I even try for applying visa for my brother and sister-in-law? I will be sponsoring them, since income is not good so he cannot sponsor himself.)

    2) Will it affect possibility of my mother getting visa in case they apply together?

    3) Or My mother only should apply for visa?

Could you please provide some pointers? It will be really helpful. Thank you!!

Widows can have difficulty getting visitor visa too. But one should try at least once, it is not impossible.
If they are planning to travel together, they should apply together and hope for the best.
Even if his income is mediocre, he should have a stable job /business and working in it for some time.
Duration of stay planned and mentioned is important. It should not be too long ; say one month for your bro as he is working ( show leave from job
or partner arrangement if in business) and 2-3 months not more for mother.

          Visitor Visa rejected

          Hi,

Visitor visa for my Mother, brother and sister-in-law is rejected recently. They wanted to visit me for 1 month.

My brother has low income in India. Person with low income can't visit relatives in USA?

Is there any way they can get visitor visa? Or if he has low income then he will not get visitor visa at any time?

          Please advice. Thanks

There is no rule in the law that applicants should have a certain amount of income. But, they should make the VO believe, that they will return to the home country at the end of their trip.

Many things influence VO to approve or reject the visa other than just strong ties/financial status.

I personally know many cases, who got rejected with crores of turnover and strong family ties.

And many got approved without any strong ties to their home country.

So, presenting our case before the VO genuinely and filling truthful information in DS 160 and giving brief and straight answers to the VO confidently, is only thing in our hands.

This is my opinion, not a legal advice.
