My wife had applied for a B2 visa at the New Delhi embassy and was granted the visa as per the counselor on the 22nd of April and her passport was taken and no receipt was given.
On the 24th she was called again to give her fingerprints at the embassy and was again told that the visa had been granted and she would receive in a couple of days.
It has been more than 10 days now and the embassy has called her 3 times asking if she has the passport with her.
It seems that they have misplaced her passport and are now not replying to our emails and the customer call center just says that they weill get back.
What can we do? and what is the embassy's responsibility in case they have lost the passport.
The trip is just about to be cancelled as we planned to go on the 17th of May.
