  • Visitor Visa for In-Laws

    Hi,

    We are planning to bring In-laws on visitor's visa but we are worried about their property since they don't have any immovable property to show. We can show some cash and other assets like jewellery. We would like to know how much role the immovable property will play in getting the visitors visa. Other details with regard to our in laws

    1) They have two daughters, both are married, Elder is in US and the younger in India
    2) First time only Mother in law went for visa in 2009 and got rejected( assuming rejected because of property)
    3) Asked about the property in the first interview
    4) This time we are planning to send both father-in-law and mother-in-law

    Please let me know if you need more information.

    Thanks in advance

    property is not always asked about. It is a secondary issue.

    If primary factors( family ties, income) are negative for the applicant, then they ask about property to give the applicant a chance on that.

    please post details;

    what is your and your wife's visa status in US, and how long have you been in US?
    What do in laws do in India and what is their income?

        see with both daughters married off ,the officers think they do not have strong family ties in India.

        Plus their income is not good enough as a strong tie.

        Still, no harm in trying, it all depends on the officer, sometimes they are lenient. Show your sponsorship and let both of them apply
        together . Should request a reasonable stay like 2-3 months , not more. ALso, if your FIL is working, will he get that much leave?
