How can I get a help from AIr India

Hello,
Even though it would not be a problem, my parents are a little apprehensive to come all alone from India to USA by Ari India. They are aged and need some help. Especially borading of flights during stopovers, and in USA during immigration, customs and bagge claims.

Is there any provision with Air India by which who can help them in helping them

You'll have to call AirIndia to find out. They have toll free nos in
US;1800 223 7776
1888 359 2412
1800 625 6424.
Also,if you can still opt, AI has direct flights (no changing planes) from India
to US too, so that will make it easier for your parents.

Hi,

My mother-in-law travelled alone by Air India.
She had absoluetly no problems.
She had a direct flight to Chicago with a stopover at Frankfurt.
Since there was no change of plane involved, she had to deplane and wait at the same terminal and board the same flight an hour later.
Also, she did not have the extra headache of transit visa at Frankfurt.
Suggest you look for similar flights.
As regards immigration and customs, you can breif them about the same.
If they understand English, they will be able to manage.
Some websites walk you thru the entire process providing samples of immigration/custom forms. You can send them copies of that too.

There is a facility called Meet-and-Assist (I believe this program name is correct) in Air India. You can call them and request for this. AI people will assist your parents in collecting the baggages etc. But I'm not sure about help in Customs formalities..

Freaking Air India

Damn Air India. I arranged a wheel chair program for my mom at Chennai airport and they made her to wait for 2 long hours and finally said no for the service. Is there anyway I can sue them?

My mom fell down and had some knee problem just the day before she started and these a...s h..les at Chennai airport did not bother to help.

Is there anyway I can make sure it will be taken care of at LAX
