  • Visa application. Previous referral order.

    Hi there,

Apologies if this is in the wrong section. I'm looking to apply for a visa to travel later in the year. However I was given a referral order about 7 or 8 years ago for GBH. I have never been convicted as an adult since. I just wanted people who have any sort of previous record to share what their experience was like and if they were successful. I'd be lying if I didn't say I was still nervous about the application and want to gauge my chances based on how other people have done.

    Hi there,

I wondered how your application went?

I have a similar situation but with huge time restraints that are making me highly stressed.

I am travelling to the USA on 20th April. Flights and hotel are booked and pay for my work (attending a scientific conference).

I had to get a new passport an this arrived at the end of february. At this time I booked my appointment with the embassey for 25th March - the earliest appointment they had! I made my application for standard ACRO police certificate 6th March (I have a caution for actual bodily harm from 2004). I have not been in any trouble since. This was when I was 14 years old!

I am now waiting on a delayed ACRO police certificate----should be ready to send on Tuesday 24th March (day before the interview meaning I will not have the correct forms for the interview). then, if I call and plead my case when I get confirmation that they have received the form and luckily get the form for the interview I then have only 20 working days to receive it! If they accept it that is!

Please can you let me know how your situation went? do you thik I would be accepted for an emergency interview at the embassey? Does this mean I should pay again?

Sorry for the long letter, I am extremely anxious about the situation.
