not to discourage you, there are some negative issues with your application; for example , you are young , single and going alone. Your salary is mediocre( no offense)
for visa purpose. They place emphasis on income rather than bank balance and other things.

Still, your history of travel alone to other countries is a positive thing that may get you the visa. The officer may ask about your savings and properties, if you are lucky. 50-50 chance in my opinion.

Another thing is if you have any immediate relatives in US and any past denials for US visa?

        that is another positive.

You can try it is up to you. 50-50 chance, in my opinion. chances would improve if you had more time with the present company, earned more, and went with someone like siblings, cousins or friends, or parents.

Infect I have already through cox and kings and paid the booking amount for the group tour. Infact I like travelling and I always save money for travelling. But the travel agent have taken all documents for filling the form DS160 but when I saw the form there is no required information regarding my savings and properties? I am genuine tourist sir . I have my family and career here ...friends and my boyfriend. What exactly the VO look for the candidate and how they judge that this candidate is not right? Pls help I really want to go for holiday....

            their main concern is if the person will come back. So they look at the total picture ;
your age, if you are married, if your income is strong, you have been at the job for a long time, you have traveled before, your purpose is not vague and
            your duration requested is precise.

That said, they also look at how you answer questions so you look genuine. Since you are a real traveler you may get it, just try to impress that in your interview.
it is short , you may only get a brief chance to explain that.

Also, I advise that you complete the DS160 form yourself or sitting with the agent because that is what they read and any mistakes will be
in their data base for ever.

do not wear rough and casual like jeans, t-shirt.

Anything decent and formal ,one would wear to an interview .

                  Hi Peace999,
I'm little bit in similar situation like Anuradha. My income is 53000 per month. I'm going for my usmle cs exam. I,m working for past 8 years now in a university. 6 years on contractual appointment and 2 and half years as a regular employee(medical officer). If you say 42000 per month is mediocre salary then 53000 is also not much better. I'm married and have wife and son who are not going with me. Though I will be going for 10 days as I have declared in my ds 160 but would like to stay for 1 month if I succeed in getting one month of clinical rotation in usa. So for unexpected expanses I have secured some personal loan. My total cash position is Rs. 500,000. I have no property in my own name. My visa iv date is june16. I have visa letter from usa (ECFMG) and have scheduled my exam for early July.
Now, I'm worried if they will say my income is inadequate? What are my chances of getting a visa?

Your income concern is not valid. The purpose and the big picture is different in each case.
In her case, she is going for a pleasure purpose.
For pleasure, the officers think that one should be earning very well to spare money for an expensive
tour. Still, it could work in her favor as she has no family burden and traveling is her passion.

In your case, it is just an exam, And your income is good enough for your purpose.
Your employed status will go in your favor.
That said, for step2 cs, there are bigger deciding factors than income,eg. step1 and /or step 2 scores and your long term plans.
They can ask you why you wish to do residency in US and what do you plan to do after that.
You should have clear cut idea that you plan to return home after your residency and do practice/job etc...

Thank you Peace999. I'm feeling little relief now. But can I stay for 30 days instead of 10 days mentioned in my ds160?
