Taking aapointment-new rules

Hi,

Need a visa for my mom. She has got the HDFC bank receipt. We are now trying to get an appointment on VFS visas. But the procedure seems that I have to fill up the DS 156/Ds157 forms.

Is this the right process? I thought these forms are required only at the interview!!

And where does one select the consulate?

When you are taking the appointment, you will be asked to fill DS-156 and DS-157 forms online. Then you print them. They will look exactly like the same forms that have always been there. Additionally, there will be bar code and HDFC receipt number on it.

You will be asked to select your state. Based on that, appropriate consulate will automatically be selected.
