can return ticket be just open and no date

i recently got 2 yrs multiple entry b1 visa. i am going to attend interviews and give step 3 of usmle. now my return ticket is open and there is no specific date of return.
the reason is that i am expecting more interview calls so cannot have a specific date of return.
i am planning to ask 4 months at poe. now having the open return ticket bad. will it affect me in anyway.

It is possible that if questioned at port of entry, they may get suspicious. But that is all very subjective. Don't worry too much.

Hello rajiv,
They do not routinely ask to look at the ticket. I travelled on a B1/B2 in
2002 and I was not asked for the ticket.If asked, you can explain to them that interview scheduling is variable so you kept the ticket open.

By the way which airline are you traveling by?
