question Regarding Ds-160 and nterview

Good day,
i have a question. Once we filled DS-160 and submitted then during the time between Interview date and Ds- 160 Submission what goes happen ?I heard When you submitted Ds-160, Then department of homeland security Starts their work and they sent Their Comments/Decision to the Embassy where Applicant have to go for Interview. Is it true that decision comes from Homeland Security before interview?

The decision to approve or disapprove your nonimmigrant visa comes from your interviewing Embassy.

i guess you mean to say that Department of homeland do nothing in non immigration visa, and do nothing with the Ds 160 data that we sent before interview? Am i right ?

Who knows; no one can tell you for sure unless he/she has worked in the visa office.

But in general, they must be doing basic background checks on everyone
and anyone who comes under admin. processing , the file may have to be cleared by washington .

I think you are mixing up the government agencies.

The State Department heads the National Visa Center and the Embassies.

The Department of Homeland Security heads USCIS and other related agencies.

Your DS-160 is submitted to the State Department, not Homeland Security.

USCIS and Homland Security have nothing to do with your DS-160 or your B1/B2 visa.

The DS-160 has nothing to do with USCIS.

The DS-160 is submitted to the State Department, then reviewed by the Embassy staff at your interview.

But can your DS-160 form be checked by USCIS during immigration process?

I can't predict whether the Adjustment of Status review will capture information you originally inputted on the DS-160. If you used the DS-160 for a K1 visa, that should have been seen during your Embassy interview. If the DS-160 was submitted for any other type of nonimmigrant visa, it could very well be in a file which was transferred back to Department of Homeland Security when you entered the U.S.

From my experience, the greatest risk an immigrant faces for a thorough review of his history occurs when applying for Naturalization.

Ray b, I asked because there was a misrepresentation on my DS 160 form as been married so worried it could come up during my AOS
