B2 Visa to see my Father who is illegal

Hi,I am going to apply for B2 visa to visit my father who's visa is outdated.Now I am going to apply not considering him in my case.My mother has Bank statement worth $40,000.
How will i answer if they ask me about how my mother got this much money?

you will have to mention your dad under 'immediate relatives in US' in the form.

also, they will ask for YOUR income not your mother's money.

Your mother's available cash has nothing to do with your visitor visa application. Though you have to report relatives in the U.S. on the application form, you don't have to report their visa overstay status.
