  • Vistor Visa for inlaws - can we provide doctor certificate

    Hi,

I have appointment for my inlaws during january month. The reason for their trip is my wife is expecting twins. since most of the vistor visa petitions is getting rejected and i dont want to take any chances, can we provide a letter from doctor stating the case is critical and their parents should be there during preganancy. Does consulate consider these type of letters and grant vistor visas.

Anybody has done it before...if so can you please let me know the details.

Also suggestions and comments are most welcome.

    Thanks in advance.

I think not.Twins does not mean a critical case. And even if it were, it would require specialized medical care and not parental care. The consulars do not think it is important for parents to be
there at delivery because whtever help is required, it can be hired in US.
It is more of an Indian cultural thing for our parents to be present
at delivery rather than a dire necessity.

Everyone gets parental help: Indians, Europeans, Africans and even Americans! I have seen all!

However, do not mention pregnancy as a reason to get tourist visa. Tourist visa is for tourism.

Thanks a lot for the comments.

I do agree with you folks.

My inlaws are not much financially (they dont have any own property) sounded and they have a son & daughter who is in xth std. If my inlaws are going for a appointment during january month and producing documents that they have son & daughter back home, the consulate person can raise a question why do you want to go to USA for tourism, since yours kids will be having the Annual examinations during the March or April month.

Any help from you folks on this question will be greatly appreciated.

Also please give us your valuable suggestions & guidelines on this case.

        Thanks in advance.
