Father's visitor visa - name mismatch b/w his and my passport

I am living in US for the last 2 years on L1 and we are applying for my father's visitor visa.
His name in my passport is spelt as "Vallaba Murty" and it is spelt as "Vallabha **** **" (space deleted and 2 h letters are added).
I am sponsoring my father's visitor visa.

Can we proceed and apply for the visitor visa? Will this name mismatch impact the result?
Or can I get a affidavit from lawyer stating that both these names are his valid names.

Could you get the visitor visa? I am facing the same problem. My father surname in his passport and my father surname in my passport are not matching.
Even my mother name.
Please share your experience.
I need my mom in USA for my baby sake very urgently.
