  • Applying for parents visa now but dont plan to call them immediately

    Hi,
I am applying for my parents visa in November but I do not intend to call them to USA until April-May this year once summer is in again.
Needed to know a few things,
    1) in case my parents go for the interview and get a 6 month visa and do not travel now- will it be a problem the next time they go for a visa stamping.

    2) Can my parents tell the Visa officer they are planning to visi only in April-May? Will the visa officer ask them why they are applying so early in that case?

    3) Anyone who has faced such a similar experience please do reply

    Your help is appreciated.
    Thanks,

I do not think it is a problem. In the DS156, indicate the travel plan dates are MAY 2006. I applied for my parents B1/B2 this September for November 2006 (and they did not have any issues in getting a 10yr multiple entry). If the visa officer asks why are you applying so early - tell them we are making plans to visit next year and did not want to apply for the visa at the last minute. Good luck!
