Visitor visa - mumbai embassy

Hi,

Am applying for visa for mom.My mom lives in Karnataka alone most of time but also resides in bombay(stays with brother) other times. When i checked for the available dates for visa interviews we thought that it would be better to apply thru bombay than chennai saying that she is bombay resident.So i asked my brother to pay fees at HDFC in bombay (one of the designated branches).Now i realised that language can be a issue there.Mom doesn't speak English, Hindi.
Right now we've just paid the visa fees.We can take appt for her on 27th of this month (2 days will be over). Can i take interview for her at chennai embassy (kannada) using this visa fee receipt ? or do i have to pay fees at bangalore or other southern region branches ? I really have no clue as to what to do or should i proceed taking interview for her at bombay ? Can i request kannada language service at bom ? Has anyone ever done such a thing ? Please help immediately. My mom wanted to come here by end of April before my delivery date.This is possible only if she applies thru bom but Chennai she will get much later dates.

You can't request Kannada at Mumbai.

I suggest you send an email to VFS whether they would allow to take an appointment at Chennai.

And please post whatever you find out here, for the benefit of others.

Language issue

My brother is helping mom with the visa formalities.Y'day he called up VFS helpline at mumbai and they told him over the phone that Kannada language is available at Mumbai embassy. I still have doubts about it though and he too is equally surprised. Have asked him to clarify the same with an email to them.

Mistake while filling up DS 156

My brother already took interview date for mom at Mumbai. While taking appt online , he was asked to fill up DS 156. He made couple of mistakes in the form. He did get an interview date for her. But now question is can i edit or modify the application form. He says he is still able to retrieve /edit it. But am kind of not sure.
My question is what happens when you fill up DS 156 and proceed taking interview date ?
Does it get saved and recorded at VFS site ? If so why does it allow you to edit it even after filling it up and taking interview date ?
Can someone who has gone through this procedure please help and clarify.
