Appointments in TTS , not in VFS

Hi folks,
I have seen appointments become available every now and then in the TTS system for Chennai for Jan and Feb 06 but in VFS the earliest available date is in March 06.
I really need to get an early appointment date for my in-laws. Why are the dates that are open in TTS not available in VFS?

Has anyone been to a VFS counter in person and got an appt date earlier than what is available online?

You can't take any new appointments with TTS anymore.

What I'm trying to say is that I saw several open dates for Jan in the TTS system yesterday - obviously they are available for those with TTS appointments to reschedule. I'm wondering why these open slots are not made available for people looking to book a new appointment in VFS - where the first available date is only in March.

Many things are beyond obvious now a days in this visa appointment system.

Only VFS/TTS knows what is going on internally.

My friend has been called for conference in US from Dec 4-6. We are checking VFS and the earliest dates are in Dec (for Emergency Appointment - Business Visit) but when we check the same through TTS, its dates are as near as the next week. I wonder why this discrepancy? I think tts says dates are available and VFS doesnt seem to be picking up those dates..

Anyway we can check with this??? thanks !!!

No matter what is showing where, you can't make any new appointments with TTS any more. No point in even looking at TTS website any more.

One more thing.. why is the new VFS site not allowing us (Karnataka based people) to choose Delhi as the interview location? TTS Site used to allow that as the embassy itself has allowed it. I could see Delhi as an interview location for us karnataka based people only when I select "Emergency Appointment" link. Is this link ok for business based travel for conferences which had been decided with very less time left? What are you thoughts on this sir?
