Single lady visiting boyfriend in US

I am 30 years single lady. Was wondering if it is safe to say at the interview that i am visiting boyfriend or should i say family friend or relative?

from my own experience (friends), they are unable to get a visa because interviewing officer may think that u will not come back, he will just say that ur bf can visit you.

I am assuming it is for a visitor visa. If you say visiting boyfriend as the
purpose , that will be like placing the denial stamp yourself.
(To the consular that may mean you may get married to your boyfriend in US and will never come back)

Anyway , young and single people going for a casual purpose like
visiting relatives , it is hard to get visitor visas, because consualrs
do not trust them to come back

You may have a better chance going for a business trip(conference, short training) related to your job at home.

Thanks for your response. Yes it is for a visitor visa. I would love to go for business but getting documentation to show that may be difficult. Do I still have a chance if i prove strong ties like job, property, and business partnership and say that i am visiting a family friend for a short, 3-week holiday?

I suggest you do not say "family friend". Because then they will probe
ýou further and get the truth out of you. Do not bring this person
into the picture at all. If you have some actual relatives in the US,
get an invitation letter from them, and say you are going to visit them
for a vacation.

If no relatives, it is going to be hard. You could say , tourism of US
but then they will ask why you are going alone to tour US and if you
have toured other countries like in europe and why only US etc. etc?
