Visitor Visa rejected at mumbai consulate

Hi All,
My mother-in law's visa got rejected today at mumbai consulate , reason 214 (B) . My wife is expecting in the next month even I had done my mother-in law's ticketing in the first week of Nov, now what are my possible options / procedure for reapplying for her.

Will appreciate any help. An urgent reply is greatly appreciated.

Heard that the consular officers have some kind of lie detectors with them while taking interviews at mumbai consulate ? Is it true ?

No.

In order to use lie detector, you have to measure the changes in your body such as heart rate, temp. and many other things. And for that, you have to have probes fitted to your body in many places.

And all the does not happen at the consulate.

Thanks for the earlier replies, really appreciate it. My wife is expecting early dec so my mother-in law who was expected to be here (we had given tourism as the reason) got her visa rejected based on 214(b). Now I am not still able to diagonise the reason (as she has very strong family ties) :
1) She has three unmarried children who are dependent on her in india (two unmarried daughters & one son - 11th Standard).
2) Her husband (my father-in law) is there in india.

Almost none of the documents were seen & the questions asked were :
Q) What is ur son-in law ?
A) S/w engineer

Q) What is ur daughter ...s/w engineer ?
A) No..Phsiotherapist

Note : My wife is on H4 & is not working

Q) What kind of business does ur husband do ?
A) Rice

Q) Whats the annual income ?
A) 2 lac's

REJECTED....handed over 214(b)

I am just failing to understand what could be the possible reason ?
