Hi, I am a first time B2 applicant. I've been reading the treads on this issue and would like to have some advices/opinions on my chances of getting the visa.
I am going for an interview coming Monday.
My profile:
Single, 30yr female. Singaporean.
Currently employed by my company holding to managerial post. 5 years of working history in this company.
Current drawing at annual salary of S$55,000.
Has been in Singapore all my life. Travelled to countries like HK/Macau, Thailand, Indonesia, Cambodia, Malaysia, China and 3 times to the US (2 weeks short trip each) under the VWA in once 2011 and twice 2013.
Never got denied under ESTA and POE.
Family are all in Singapore.
I planned to travel for 6 months (key in 7 months in DS-160 and planned to clarify with the Consulate) in the States doing a RV trip.
As I've traveled to the States before and in 2013 (last trip was Dec 2013-Jan2014 - 2 weeks stay), I have declared my boyfriend's contact & address in the DS-160.
I was thinking it is rather unlikely I can get away saying I have no friends in the States since I've been there trice in records. Hence I declared.
I have a letter from my company approving my leave from August 2014 - March 2015, declaring my salary and stated that I am expected to resume my duties in March 2015.
I have a self evaluation of my case but like your expertise.
1) I know I will be asked why not travelled under VWP?
-Can I convince the officer that I have a solid plan to travel, doing a road trip traveling a few states in the States. 6 months is a sufficient planned time to cover my travel and I will be back in March 2015 to resume my work (I will emphasize on that).
2) I figure my advantages may be:
a)Stable job with good income
b)Letter from company stating that I am expected to return to work (Evidence to returning to home country?)
c)Family in Singapore
d)Average savings of $30k (If they may even ask for it at all)
However my disadvantages are:
a)Single
b)They are likely to figure or assume that the US Contact I indicated is my boyfriend anyway. (I dont think I should deny that if asked, should i?)
c)6 months for tourism may be deem too long??
I am getting really worried cos I know I am at risk of losing my rights to VWP.
Please advise on my chances.
Thank you so much!
