Hi i m divorced but immigration status did not update. Now i m applying visitor visa to usa so what status should i fill out. I have divorce papers from newzealand . Last year i renew my passport n immigration officer said she canot accept nz divorce paper becouse our marriage was registred in india n divorce should be file from there. Please advice me what status i should fill out now.
I have only nz divorce papers.....

When applying for any U.S. immigration benefit, you should report your correct civil status (married, divorced or single), regardless of whether your passport reflects the divorced status. If you fail to report your correct civil status on a U.S immigration-related application, it can come back to haunt you when applying for future U.S. immigration benefits.
