Cover Letter from parents to the Consulate

Hi,

I am applying for B2 Visa for my parents and have scheduled the interview in a regional language. Do my parents need to address the cover letter to the consulate in English or the regional language will do? Or, is it OK, if we write it in English, interpret it to the parents in our mother tongue, and add a statement in the letter stating the same.

cover letter is not a requirement and in reality they don't ask for it and do not read it.
