B1/B2 visa:: administrative processing

Hi,

I had an interview for my B1/B2 visa on 3/7/14 at 9 AM at the Mumbai consulate, I reached there at 845 and the entire process was hassle free. I was done with a short interview wherein I was asked regarding my purpose of visit and was asked about my friends in the United States. My visa was approved and I was out of the consulate at 10 15 AM. I, then checked my visa status in the evening and it said "administrative processing" and it may take several weeks. Is this status normal or would it take longer than 3-5 days, as committed by the VO, for ne to get back my passport. I am worried as I am to leave for canada for my MBA next month and plan to apply for my Canadian visa by 15th of July. Kindly help. Thanks

no one can predict the time. Not even the consulate. You just have to wait. If you want to apply for canada, you can ask for your passport back.
