  • Would my wife Get a B2 Visa

Hi. I got married in January 2014. I am british and have been to states many times. My wife is indian and lives with me in the UK on a spouse visa. It has only been a few months since she has come to the UK. I would like to take her to the states, do you guys think she would be eilgable for a tourist visa ?? will it be difficult . We went to thailand and singapore for our honeymoon and she was issued with a visa there no problem.

I have money in the bank etc and my entire family is in the UK as i was born here. I hear that you have to convince the officer that you have ties in your residing country.

most important are your work and income ties to home country. It should not be a problem, if you (the husband), have stable employment and good income .
Even if she is not working,
she will show in the form DS160 that she is traveling with you and you are funding the trip.
She should take your passport to the interview, proof you are both married and proof of your work + income.

im abit worried that she will get refused as she hasnt been in the uk that long. I thought maybe i could increase her chances if we went to france for the weekend. As the UK comes under the EU i will be able to get her a french shenegen visa. Then if i apply afterwards then maybe it will look like she has more credible travel history, Thailand and singapore dont really seem to be seen as a hard place to get into. Maybe having the european visa will show that she has more family ties and show that she isnt going to just over stay etc.

      What do you guys think

The fact that she is married to a UK citizen who has established work and income ties to UK , should override her short stay in UK.

Travel history is a secondary parameter. First are the purpose , intended duration and ties to home country.

Still, If you want , a schenegan stamp and a trip to france can only do good , if it is not too much hassle for you.
