Parents got 10 years Multiple Entry Visa

      Hi,

My parents got 10 years Multiple Entry Visa They had their interview on Nov 3rd & got their Passports on Nov 9th. They were informed about the 3 day long weekend & were told that the passports would be dispatched on Nov 7th only.

      Visa Interview:

The interview was in English @ 1:15 PM @ Chennai. They reached the consulate around 12:45p & were let in immediately. Both my parents are retired & both the children are in USA. The CO was a young lady & after initial greeting exchanges, asked following questions:

Q: Who are you visiting in USA?
      A: Daughter & son-in-law

Q: Who is sponsoring your trip?
      A: Son-in-law

Q: What was your profession before retirement? (To both my parents)
      A: **** ***

Q: How much pension do you get?
A: Our household monthly pension is Rs. YYYY X

Q: Do you have any other Children?
A: Yes, we have 1 son

      Q: Where does he live?
      A: He lives in **** **** ***, USA.

Q: Oh! So will you be visiting your son also then?
A: Yes, we will be visiting him also definitely.

“You got the visa. Please pay the fees”. That’s it. Questions were asked to both my dad & mom equally. And they were out of the consulate by 2:15 pm. Overall, it was pleasant experience. The CO was friendly & didn’t check any documents even though they had carried all possible documents as suggested in this website. Thanks again!

        Congrats

        Hi priyag,
Did your parents take any documents from your brother like passport copy,
I-134 etc. ? If they took any of them, did the visa officer ask for any documents?

        Thanks

          Hi Lax,

Yes, my parents took just my brother's (& not my Sis-in-Law's) Passport copy. That was the only document from my Bro's side. But they were never looked at during the interview. In their case, neither the Visitor's docs nor the Sponsor's docs were looked at.
