Hi,
I am working in the US on an H1B visa. My father, mother, and grandmother wanted to visit me and they attended a visitor visa interview in August 2005 but their visas were denied under 214b. Now, they have another appointment on in Jan 2006 booked as one group for all three of them. However, this time my grandmother is not in a position to make the trip to the US or attend the interview. Only my father and mother are planning to visit me. In this regard, we would like to know if the consulate would allow us to keep the same appointment with only my father and mother attending the interview. Could you advise me on this? And even if the consulate allows this, is it a good thing for us to do from the perspective of successfully obtaining a visa this time? Please note that my grandmother staying back makes a stronger case for us since it means my parents have to return to India to take care of her.
Thanks very much.
