What are the chances of getting B1 visa after h1b withdrawal

Hi All,

Just need the expert opinion on the below case.

1) I had a B1 visa in 2004 valid for 3 month, and in that Visa i didn't get a chance to travel.
2) In 2005, i applied for H1B and got 221g, and didn't took any action. It seems petition is still active. I checked the status in egov.uscis.gov and it says that it is in "initial review" phase.
3) Now new company applied for B1 for me and i got the 221g again. In the same day i got an email from consulate to fill up the questionnaire. And send the scan copy of invitation letter.


I have below questions based on above history.

1) How to close the H1B petition, which is still active (Initial Review).
2) Is this H1B petition, is the reason to get the 221g for B1?
3) What are the chances or action should be taken care of to clear the B1 visa.

the 221g is not due to your H1b application.

It can be due to any reason, your country, your education or work background, or some other reason.
Even if you applied for B1/B2 before H1b, you would have got 221g.

You can't do anything but wait. Just reply to their requests immediately.

Your H1b petition was approved but your H1b visa got 221g, correct? you do not need to do anything for that.
Just let it stay like that.
