  • PLZ HELP... Its about licensing exams on the basis of visitor visa...

    hello everyone,
this is my first post on this site. hope it will help.

    these are my queries:
    1. how long i can stay in US on the basis of visitor visa??
    2. can i give licensing exams on the basis of visitor's visa?? if the answer is no then which visa i have to get?

let me be clear, i m a final year Pharm D(doctor of pharmacy) student in India right now and want to be a registered pharmacist in US.

    3. for 1500 hrs of rotation before exams can i do that on the visitor's visa??
    4. is it necessary to do rotation in one journey??

PLZ HELP ME OUT, I AM REALLY VERY CONFUSED ....

Yes, you can take the exams on a B1/B2 visa (visitor visa)

when you enter US on a B1/B2 visa, at the airport they will ask you the purpose and duration you require.
If you will tell them you have come to take the exams and will stay one month they will give you a B1 stamp on your passport .
The duration for first timers on a B1 is usually 3 months irrespective of what you say. But it can be less also depending on the officer.

you can do the rotation on the time give you provided there is no payment involved.

first of all thanx for reply...

i get the point that i can appear for the licensing exams on the basis of visitor's visa, but i m sorry to ask this but are you sure about the maximum duration we can stay in United States on the basis of visitor's visa?
because as far i know its 6 months .....

and i already gave the reason for visitor visa at the time of interview at Mumbai US consulate that i'm going for the unpaid internship for 3-4 months.

it is all at the discretion of the airport immigration officer how much stay he gives you , there is nothing fixed.

What I meant was USUALLY they give 6 to B2 pleasure visitors and 3 to B1 business visitors.

But it can be more or less ( not more than 6) depending on what you say. So you will be fine.
Just carry letters of where you will be doing your internship , they can ask you more because your stay request will be
        a few months.
