  • Do I need I-134 form in original form only

    Hi,

I have a typical situation here:

I am in US since April this year with L1 visa along with my Wife and a Baby on L2.

My Parent-in-law is visiting us from New Delhi, India and their interview is this Thursday.
I had helped them in filling DS-160 (because they are not very well versed with English language). In the section, where it says that "Who will be paying for your trip", My name and current US address is there.

I have booked their travel ticket and they will be living with us for approximately 3 Months.

They have all the documents printed (I sent my salary slip, passport copy, I-94 and employment document via email); except I-134. Problem is that the I-134 form needs physical signature, and that needs to be produced original.

Though I have mailed it to them via post, but looks like it is not going to make by the time. They have signed scan copy of the form.

I have told them to keep their bank account statement (having approximately USD 8000) as well the travel ticket copy.

How to deal with this situation in interview? Though they are not fully dependent on me, will the scan copy of I-134 will be considered; along with all the documents mentioned above?

Please help me, if you have any experience in this case.

    Thanks,

It is always better to send all the "original" documents by post or courier. Even with technical advances, it is better to step two steps backwards and go with the classic style.

What can be accepted and what can not is up to the visa officer but it is better not to take any chance due to high possibility of fraud in electronic documents.
