I completed and submitted the DS-160 non-immigrant application a few days ago. I also paid the visa fee and scheduled an appointment (which I now canceled).
Upon reviewing my printed out application , I realized a critical mistake I had made.
Under the question " Do you have any immediate relatives not including parents in the united states?" I selected "no" when in reality it should be "yes". Having skimmed through the questions on that page, I misread the question as immediate relatives (parents). My parents are NOT in the US, however, I have a sibling currently in the US. I know this will be interpreted as concealment of information but it was an honest mistake.
I need to correct this ASAP, and I came across the fact that I can retrieve my application, select "create new application" , make the necessary changes and then re-submit the application with the new confirmation bar code.
My question is, does the application with the old incorrect information get deleted and replaced by this now "new " one or are they both present at the embassy. Will I have to bring both or just the newly corrected one?
Please help!
Thank you so much
