Applying Visitor Visa With Spouse

I am applying for visitor visa with my wife. My first impression was we have to apply separately, just with giving info that spouse is accompanying.

However, after completing the application, in the final confirmation page, I saw a confirmation page, that shows a button with title 'Start Family Visa'. This made me confused. However, I tried to continued with that and found same old forms that I filled already. However this time, few sections was getting filled automatically.

So, my questions here are:

1) If I am my spouse apply separately without using this 'family application' option, is there any problem? pros/cons? If we get appointment, can we still get appointments together or we will have to take appointment separately too?
2) If I use this 'family visa' option, should I fill my spouse's information on second time?
