Applying for a visa when another visa is under administrative processing

Hi guys,

I applied for a B1/B2 visa and my case is still under administrative processing after almost 2 months. I missed the conference I wanted to attend.

I have to get a J1 visa ASAP for an internship. Am I eligible to apply for the visa? or should I wait until the other application is back? And do they reuse admin processing results?

That really depends upon why your other application went for admin processing in the first.

If you are eligible for J1 visa (that is, you want to go to the US to do the activities allowed on J1 visa), you can apply for it right away.
