Hi Forum,

I want to apply for the visitor's visa for my parents. Before paying the HDFC fee, I wanted to see when the earliest appointment date is. It says that the interview dates are not available. I had checked for dates couple weeks ago and the earliest date was in March. I see that the wait times have gone down since the new rules but its strange that there are no dates available. Can someone please tell me how long it might take for the dates to become available again? Should I go ahead and pay the HDFC fee while waiting for the dates?

Is it common that dates are not available or is it the first time this is happening? I knew that there could be a long backlog but I didn't know that there was a cap on how many dates they give out. Would you advise that I pay the HDFC fee and wait for the dates to become available?

Thank you. Just another question: how long is the HDFC receipt valid? How long can I wait after paying the HDFC fee, before making the appointment?

I don't think there is any expiration date. But of course, you can't use it after 5 to 10 years.

Hi,
If you are checking the dates once in a week, then you will never get the appointment..try to check multiple times in a day. Usually 5-7 am PST.
today I saw multiple dates in feb and march available almost whole day.

HDFC receipt is valid for one year.

even there are no dates available, you can go ahead and fill up the required forms online and save them. whenever dates are available you can make the appointment..

I saw some english language appointments in march.

i saw telugu appointments more than a month ago..after that its always 'no dates are available'

Any Kannada appointments available?

I have been checking whole day, usually from 10 am ET to 8 PM ET, always says no dates available, could some one give me tips to get the appointment date.. Thanks..

i have been looking into the appointments from more than a month. but none of the regional language dates are available like kannada or telugu or tamil.
now a days only english dates are available..that too once in a while..
i dont know what the heck is going on there internally.
u need to keep on checking multiple times a day.
the only tip i can give you is:
go to VFS site. select the "check appointment availability" link on the home page. select your visa category, state and language. as usual it will display "dates are not available". click 'ok' on this small box. and add this page to your browser favorites.
so..from next time just go to favourites and select the link..thats it.
