Mom got the visa

Hi all,

Just wanted to share the good news that my Mom got the visa today at the Chennai consulate. She said the interview process did not last more than 3 mts. I'll write in detail abt the interview process once I get all the details from her.

I am so delighted that she got the visa. Hallelujah. Thank you Immihelp - without this forum we would never have been able to prepare her.

How to prepare ????

Hi,
I'm planning to apply for visitor visa for my parents.
I see many posts where you mentioned you're well prepared for this forum.
I'll appreciate if anyone please write in detail what to do. Is there any specific area I've to look in this forum(other than discussion forum).

Mom got Visa

Hi,

Just wanted to give you all an update on the interview. My mom had to wait for more than 2 hrs before the interview began and it all got over in less than 3 minutes.

C.O : Who are you going to visit
Mom : My daughter

C.O : Who is sponsoring you ?
Mom : My daughter and my husband ( passed the relevant documents)

C.O : Why didn't you visit the US prior to this ?
Mom : I was working and just retired. My youngest child has also just completed his education, so now I have some time off.

C.O : Pay the visa fees. You passpoert and visa will reach you in 3 days.

God bless the C.O. This was my Mom's first attempt. She is arriving here on the 18th.

I have one question. At the point of entry does she have to tell the Immigration official that she wants to stay here for at least 6 months to get 6 months stamped on the I 94 and passport ?
