Tourist Visa for CPA - required Sponsor Letter from fiance??

Hello,

I am going to apply for tourist visa for my CPA exam.
My fiance is there on green card and has been staying since 13 years.
Should I apply with his sponsor letter? Is it create any problem?
Some visa consultancy agency refused me to show his sponsor letter (as it increases chances of refusal), and to apply as self with hotel accommodation.
How should I go?? Please help me.
