  • Passportrenewal with B1/B2 visa

Hello, I have about 4 years on my B1/B2 visa, my passport have expired so I renewed it, the new passport have the exact same spelling of my name on the B1/B2 visa except for a space that's removed on my family name. My family name on the visa for example is ABC ABCDEF" and on the new passport is "ABCABCDEF", exact spelling but without the space. Should I apply for a new visa for that ?

    Thanks in advance.

Does the old passport with the visa also have this error? If not, then it is a new passport problem. Get a new passport without the error.

The new passport can't accommodate the name with the space anymore, it's an entirely new passport type so won't be possible. Again, it's only a space, the spelling is exactly the same. Do I need a new visa for that ?

You do not need a new visa because the visa name is correct as per your old passport. It is your new passport that has the space error.

Go to the passport office and tell them it is a space error on the new passport and they will issue you a new passport without the error.

My country's new passport regulation won't allow the name to be written with the space on the family name so that's not an option for me.

If this space is gonna cause a problem entering the US then my only option will be to reapply for the US visa. Do I have to do that or can I just carry the old passport with the visa with me when in entering the US.

You do not need a new visa . You will not encounter any problems during the visit .
but if you will apply for more visas later then you will have to bring this name difference into consideration.
