  • B2 visa for 21 year old unmarried son

Hello, I'm new to this forum. I'm currently a J-1 visa holder under the Teacher Exchange Program and I'm from the Philippines. I've been in the USA for just about 4 months. My question is can I invite my 21 year old unmarried son to come visit me here in the US in the winter holidays maybe. He's still in college and in his 3rd year already. It would be the first time for him to apply for a visa. I will be sponsoring his trip and he'll be staying at my apartment. Is there be chance for him to be approved a tourist visa? What are the other documents he needs to bring on his embassy interview aside an Invitation Letter from me and an Itinary? Does he need to show a proof of funds? If so, how much would it be, if he's gonna stay for about 30-60 Days? I would like to ask for your opinions/suggestions regarding this matter. Thank you very much and hope to hear from you soon!

    Additional info:
My husband and two minor children (ages 14 and 17) will be applying for J-2 dependent visas this coming October or November.

Since he is young and single and since his whole family will be in US before he applies, he may find it difficult to get a visitor visa.
He will have to show a really strong connection to phillipines like enrollment in a good college program or a stable job with good income. So that the officer thinks he will return to
    phillipines after the visit.

What does he do? study or work?
